After his law studies, Stijn was given the opportunity to prepare a Phd. in commercial law, more specifically on the franchise agreement, at the University of Leuven. Stijn presented his Phd. on 2 April 2009. The commercial version of his Phd. was published by Die Keure in 2009. Stijn specialises in commercial law, especially in distribution agreements.
